After our first day, Tanner Lange was declared national champion 1m 12-13 Event; and Levi Berlyn national Silver Medalist 1m 9&U. (See 2 pictures “Tanner and Levi”)Our younger boys are done with 1m and 3m.

Arizona’s John Angelovic took 4th in the nation for 18 year olds at AAU dive nationals in both 1m and 3m.  He moves on to the NCAA at Cal Baptist Div 1.

This past week July 16-22, the city of San Antonio hosted the largest springboard and platform dive competition in US history with 808 divers from across the United States.  The YMCA Westside Silver Fins team in Goodyear, coached by Bill Hunter, entered 9 divers from the Westside.  Competing in record breaking heat, 12 year old Tanner Lange from Surprise took national title with two gold medals on 1m and 3m springboard and 4th on Platform.  8 year old Levi Berlyn of Litchfield Park took Silver Medals in both springboard events in 9&under.  John Angelovic, former Arizona High School Champion from Verrado, placed 4th in both events, and will soon head off to California Baptist University, diving NCAA division 1.  Lyndon Kov of Goodyear earned a spot in 1m finals. Lyndon will attend Cal Poly also diving division 1.
